This sight greeted me when I opened the frig recently:
Since the five-year-old had been nurturing “Claw Baby” for several days, I was reasonably certain he was behind this.
Me: Why is Claw Baby in the refrigerator?
NJ: That’s because he needed to cool off.
Me: Oh.
I suppose that should have been obvious.
However…
Babysitting might not be his best career [...]

Next week, I replace the departing nanny who cared for my four, young grandchildren. Since I am a little rusty in the childcare department, I thought this song would provide a crash refresher course.
Stumble It!

Stumble It!
Jungle and I have been eating several elephants, one bite at a time, the past couple of months. When I mentioned the elephant eating to a twitter friend, he remarked, “elephant domination, great!”
So, yes, those elephants will be dominated. One way or another, Christmas will come and go, beloved out of town [...]

In honor of my son (now grown) who loved to sing a certain song…all the way through…several times a day…insisting on my undivided attention.
David, may all of your sons fall in love with the song.
In case you can’t tell, the photo is “a cartridge in a pear tree.”

This photo was taken in one of those tourist trap photo booths ten years ago.
It is still our favorite photo.
Yesterday was our anniversary. We tend to take the simple approach when it comes to celebrating the occasion, unlike number one son and the Mrs.
When Jungle asked me where I would like to go, I [...]

My son’s office did a photo shoot dressed as if they were all from the early 1960’s.
Sorta scary. Messes with my mind to see my son looking like my dad did when I was in first grade.

My granddaughter spent a couple of days with us this week. I made sure to bring along some of her toys. What was I thinking? Why would a baby want to play with anything she’s seen before when there is a whole house full of new stuff?
Things that are way more fun [...]

Think I’ve had a case of spring fever this week. I thought about writing, but didn’t get much done. The weather has been so gloriously beautiful. The gardens are flourishing, and a mother duck strolled through the yard this morning with 14 babies in tow! We took photos, which I’ll share [...]

AKA, Mr. PersonalityPosing at the piano while the jazz ensemble was on a break (at his brother’s wedding.)
My “little guy” isn’t so little any more.
I used to sing You Are My Sunshine to him when he was a baby and continued until he was about five.
One day when I sang it to him, his [...]

I got tagged by Heather.
While I was reading over the list of questions, Jungle called to say hi and see what was going on in my “exciting” world. I read him some of the questions and he offered some – shall we say – interesting answers. So I’m thinking, why not? So, [...]
